Overview
The Remote Commands screen within the Management section of the Dashboard displays a list of all commands that can be sent through the LabTech system. Commands send specific instructions to agent computers, such as cancelling printer jobs or installing a file. From the Remote Commands screen, you can send commands with any desired parameters to a specified computer.
This document outlines the remote commands that can be accessed from the Remote Commands screen in the Dashboard.
Additional commands are available to send directly to an agent via the Commands menu (e.g., resend inventory, update config, disk cleanup, etc.). For more information, refer to the Commands documentation.
To access the Remote Commands:
- From the Control Center, select Dashboard > Management > Remote Commands.

Changing the Command Level of a Command
The command level determines what commands can be run by the user. When technicians (users) are given access to the Control Center, they are also given command level permissions to run commands. By default, users are given the highest command level limit. Users can only send commands that are equal to or lower than what is set in the Command Level Limit field of the Permissions tab of the user. For example, the ‘Add User’ command has a default command level of ‘2’. All users that have a Command Level Limit of 2 and higher can run this command. Each command has been given a default command level but this can be changed to suit your needs.
To change the command level of the command:
- From the Remote Commands tab, right-click on the command and select the desired level. Available options are 0-5. Changes will take effect immediately.
